Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.
American actor Finn, who appeared in popular TV shows like "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently following treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, per media reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - only friends he didn't know yet," his relatives stated in a announcement.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".
A Prolific TV Career
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a social organizer who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of popular shows, like:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight series over nearly a decade.
His work in movies include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
A Life in Improv
Beyond his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn coached, befriended and mentored countless students over the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he posted online.
Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
