Anthony Joshua repeated his much-discussed remarks about wanting to “kill” Jake Paul during a press event in Miami on Wednesday.

These statements were originally stated on the previous day when the boxer was asked if he would hold back against Paul, replying that “if I can kill you, I'll kill”.

The upcoming bout against the internet personality turned fighter has drawn concern over safety concerns and the size difference between the two competitors.

Fury Calls AJ a “Disgrace”

Former titleholder Tyson Fury branded Joshua a “disgrace” for his inflammatory comments.

But Joshua, explained his stance: “It's my job, we fight. We have a licence to kill.

“I understand many people don't comprehend it but this is what my job is. I just enjoy what I do. The outcome, happens - provided that my hand is held high, that's what's important, respectfully.”

He continued, “That's just the psychology we have to have as warriors. I'm unsure if other fighters think that way. Perhaps they're a bit more conservative. The way my mind works. When you're in the squared circle, it's a perilous thing. Anything can happen.”

“You wish your opponent exits the ring in good health, but if they don't, you still have to go to bed aware you just did your job. It was purely professional.”

Jake Paul's Incendiary Retort

Paul, a considerable underdog in the heavyweight contest as a career lighter fighter, was equally fiery in his reply.

“This is a contemporary gladiator sport,” Paul declared. “I'm prepared. I want his most powerful punches. I want there to be zero excuses when it's all over. We should kill each other.”

Joshua will face Paul, 28, at Florida's Kaseya Center in a fight many consider a glaring mismatched contest, with some arguing it should have been approved as an exhibition bout.
