Nigel Farage Accuses Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike within weeks a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by instructing students that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a private US Christian college, Farage outlined his viewpoint on the UK education system, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I expect a walkout by educators very quickly after winning the next general election,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They are telling an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They promote this harmful mindset.”

Reacting to these assertions, Daniel Kebede dismissed the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“Farage has built his political career on dog-whistle politics and now, similar to other figures, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he’s suggesting … Should he become prime minister he would undermine state services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

Reform, which tops surveys by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

Nonetheless, his comments indicated the party would overhaul the educational framework. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with education – absolutely herculean. And, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that younger generations are receptive to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Honoring a conservative activist, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to instruct people that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind as opposed to current practices where views are labeled good or bad. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “an avowed radical” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted at school, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in recent years led to significant interruptions in schools and extensive missed instruction for children.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He said such groups were “key to resistance”, noting: “I mean this. I’ll assist garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to your online courses. I make that commitment now and I’ll do that.”

The institution, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of freedom. It offers these beautiful courses for free to all who wish to learn.”
