Real Madrid's Alexander-Arnold May Return to Face Liverpool in Upcoming European Match

The English defender training

The Spanish giants acquired Trent Alexander-Arnold with a long-term contract

The defender's recovery is advancing well, giving a chance that the Madrid defender could return soon enough to play against his former club Liverpool in November's European match.

The English player suffered a muscle problem during a match against French side Marseille in the initial phase of the tournament on September 16.

Alexander-Arnold was forced off the pitch in the early stages, with initial reports indicating a possible absence of up to a month and a half.

Real Madrid are scheduled to play at Liverpool on 4 November for the Champions League match—just over a month since the injury took place.

Reports familiar with the player's condition indicate that the player's recovery is advancing favorably, and there is optimism that Alexander-Arnold might achieve his initial appearance to Anfield since joining Real Madrid in the summer.

A lifelong Liverpool fan, Alexander-Arnold previously said that leaving the team he entered as a young academy talent was the "most difficult choice he has ever taken."

During his tenure with the Reds, Alexander-Arnold accumulated over 350 games, helping win two Premier League titles, a European Cup, and the FA Cup.

After moving to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has appeared five times across all competitions, logging over two and a half hours of game time.
